Is the world coming to an end!?

.A 15 (FIFTEEN!) YEAR OLD GIRL FROM Richomond high school was brutally raped beaten and robbed.

i was watching the dr.Phil show last week and i was really taken back by the topic of the show. It was about a 15 year old girl in Richmond, California who was gang raped by a dozen teenage boys, robbed and beaten on the school property after her home coming dance. The thing that makes me the most sick is that there were witnesses who were taking pictures of the girl as she layed on a picnic bench naked and intoxicated. I CAN'T BELIEVE THE WORLD TODAY, WHAT KIND OF PEOPLE COULD DO SUCH A THING. but it doesnt end there... one of the boys who took part in this hanous act was her so called best friend of 8 years. Finaly after about 2 hours of her laying there naked a young girl saw her body and called 911. If it wasnt for that girl, the victim probably would've been dead.
It just kills me that our world is this corrupted.
The boys were charged with
Gang rape and rape with foreign objects.

IT'S ART!

So i'm wondering...does having a tattoo or a piercing (facial) make you less proffesional?

This topic really gets me worked up! i feel that having a design and admiring the work of someone else shouldn't make you any less professional. Having a tattoo or piercing doesn't change your knowledge...does it?! A tattoo is art. A piercing is art. I feel that as soon as people see a tattoo or piercing they immidiatley degrade you and associate you with ''flith, lower class''. I just dont't get how having one or many of either can affect the way you perform at work!!!

IT IS ART!

Grade 13!?

high school is almost over, and for some...they still don't have a clue of what they want to do career wise. Personaly i feel that if we still had grade 13 we would be more prepared and more sure of our career choices. I don't know if you know this but college and university is VERY expensive!!!I know a couple of people who thought they were sure of what they wanted to do and ended up waisting thousands of dollars because it turns out they weren't. Grade 13 would give us more time to really think about our future. We could also take more courses to get a feel for everything. I think it would be a really great idea to get that extra grade back. Who knows it might even save YOU money.

SHORT & TALL ...does it really matter?

HE'S SHORT... AND WHAT!?

The media has jammed in our heads that the guy should always be taller, and that it looks more appealing when it is that way. But does it really matter?! I mean, if you love someone where does height come in to play. I hate that the media has that much impact on us! On the weekend i was with a couple of my girlfriends and a really attractive guy came up to us and no one wanted to talk to him because he was shorter! It's a bit ridiculous. Does it really make tht much of a diffrence?!

What do you think of abortion?

So, my cousin just found out that she is pregnant...AGAIN. She has had nothing but problems with her ex (the babys father) since he was born. She is not only living on welfare but has no job or education to fall back on. If you think this is bad...it gets a lot worse. She has no idea who the babys dad could be and shes an emotional wreck because of everything thats going on. She as no support from her parents and little from her siblings. She is considering an abortion but thinks because your basically killing a child she would rather have it. But thats selfish of her part because if she was to have it it would be the child that would have to suffer. It would have NOTHING I know abortion is a big desicion and takes a lot of thinking before it can happen, and i know how hard it is! But i think she should put her feelings of ''killing a baby'' aside and think about what the unborn childs life will be like. Think of how bad it would be. A couple people have even suggested giving the baby up for adoption, but she feels she will be fine and can do it on her own. Ultimately its her desicion but theres only so much you can tolerate...

What do you think know?

DO I LOOK TO FATT?

..EATING DISORDERS TODAY..

Our society's preoccupation with body image has become a growing problem, 70% of women and 35% of men are dieting. A 1993 Statistics Canada Survey reported that women between the ages of 15-25, 1-2% suffer from anorexia and 3-5% have bulimia. Eating disorders have the HIGHEST mortality rate of all mental illnesses, with 10% to 20% eventually dying from the complications.

There are many diffrent types of eating disorders such as

*Anorexia Nervosa

*Bulimia Nervosa

*Binge eating

*Anorexia Athletica

*Orthorexia

*Night eating

...and the list goes on...

Sometimes its hard to detect an eating disorder but here are some of the symptoms to look out for.

*low self-esteem
*social withdrawal
*claims of feeling fat when weight is normal or low
*preoccupation with food, weight, counting calories and with what people think
*denial that there is a problem
*wanting to be perfect
*intolerance of others
*inability to concentrate
*refusal to keep body weight at or above the normal weight for one's body type
*dieting to extremes, usually coupled with excessive exercise
*feeling overweight despite dramatic weight loss
*loss of menstrual periods
*extreme preoccupation with body weight and shape
*repeated episodes of bingeing and purging, usually by self-induced vomiting, abuse of laxatives, *diet pills and/or diuretics - methods which are both ineffective and harmful
*eating beyond the point of fullness
*periods of uncontrolled, impulsive or continuous eating

YOUTH GUN VIOLENCE...STOPPPP

YOUTH GUN VIOLENCE IN OUR STREETS

Do you think 2-5 years behind bars is fair for a murderer is fair? Do you think justice is being served? This is the maximum penalty for Toronto’s teens who are offenders of gun violence; because they are under the age of 18 they are charged as youths regardless of the crime. I think it’s safe to say that no justice is not being served, and it definitely isn’t fair. That’s why Toronto, as a community needs to work together and help stop youth gun violence.

The government has tried everything from opening community centers to enforcing more law around these areas, but the thing that really needs to be fixed and worked on is the YCJA (Youth Criminal Justice Act). This is all part of the reason why the youth gun violence rate is so high. Nothing happens to these offenders and they are definitely not being penalized for the seriousness of there actions. We are allowing teens to kill and get away with it, and they know this. A murderer is a murderer, regardless of there age. If you are old enough to pick up a gun and point it at someone, knowing you could possibly take a life, you are old enough to suffer your consequences.

The government can’t do this alone, If we work together as a community, as a family, we can make sure these teens are penalized for there crimes and justice can finally be served. Think about the families who have lost a loved one to a teenager’s immaturity, and how today that teen is walking freely. Let’s give those families that closure. Together we can make a difference.

March 12th, 2009 was the best day of my life! I was on my way to the Dominican Republic with my school to live the life of an underprivileged teen for a week. It took about 4 hours of anxiousness and excitement to get there. But when we arrived it was better then anything I’ve ever seen.

The first thing we did when we got there was meet our families. These would be the families we would stay with for the week. We ate, slept and bathed here. Everything was a lot to get used to…I mean using a bucket to shower and having to sleep in a net (the bugs were bad) was a bit different then what I’m used to. My family was very welcoming. I felt right at home within minutes.

It wasn’t all fun and sun. The 3rd day we arrived, we went to the orphanage and were all given tasks. Mine was to do the weeding and fix up the garden. It was hard work but the feeling I felt when I was finished was a feeling like none other. I felt like I left my mark there.

After finishing up the outside of the orphanage, we went in for a couple hours to play with the kids. This was probably one of the hardest parts of this trip. They were so happy that we got to spend time with them and play. It was hard leaving but I new I made a difference.

When I got home I got some time to get to know my family better. We jumped rope, kicked around a ball, played tag and danced. It was so much fun.

I also helped my brother yonathan read and speak French. By the last day he was speaking sentences. He even wrote me a note!

The next day we headed out to see the “batin” there communities that live in a sugar cane field. This was heart breaking. We met a man, who lived off of only sugar cane juice; it was sad because one of my classmates did the trip the previous year and said she remembered that man. It was sad to see he was still stuck in the same situation.

It was incredible to see how happy the children were. I mean look at what they lived in, they had no
food to eat and barely shelter. This made me realize the meaning of life and value, and how lucky I really was.

Before I new it, it was done. My experience was done! But the memories and lessons I learned would forever stick with me. This was the hardest thing I think I ever had to do. Let go of the people who took me into there home and made me feel as I was there own. I had a long ride ahead of me, and a lot to think about! This, was my Dominican Experience.

CELEBRITIES AND RELIGION

As you know, religion is very important to some. I found the Two most popular ones in the celebrity world. Read carefully and enjoy!

1) SCIENTOLOGY

Scientology is a body of beliefs and practices created by L. Ron Hubbard (1911–1986), starting in 1952, as a successor to his earlier self-help system, Dianetics. Hubbard characterized Scientology as a religion and in 1953 incorporated the Church of Scientology in New Jersey.

Scientology teaches that people are immortal spiritual beings who have forgotten their true nature. Its method of spiritual rehabilitation is a type of counseling known as auditing, in which practitioners aim to consciously re-experience painful or traumatic events in their past in order to free themselves of their limiting effects.Study materials and auditing courses are made available to members in return for specified donations.Scientology is legally recognized as a tax-exempt religion in the United States and some other countries, and the Church of Scientology emphasizes this as proof that it is a bona fide religion.

2)ILLUMINATI

Illuminati (plural of Latin illuminatus, "enlightened") is a name that refers to several groups, both historical and modern, and both real and fictitious. Historically, it refers specifically to the Bavarian Illuminati, an Enlightenment-era secret societyfounded on May 1, 1776. In modern times it is also used to refer to a purported conspiratorial organization which acts as a shadowy "power behind the throne", allegedly controlling world affairs through present day governments and corporations, usually as a modern incarnation or continuation of the Bavarian Illuminati. In this context, Illuminati is often used in reference to a New World Order (NWO). Many conspiracy theorists believe the Illuminati are the masterminds behind events that will lead to the establishment of such a New World Order
